Back to School Supplies for the Aliveness Project Kids

BookbagsMCC Illiana is once again getting the children of the Aliveness Project ready to start of the 22-23 school year geared for success with book bags filled with school supplies. These children are a part of the Aliveness Project NWI that provides social services to people living with HIV throughout Northwest Indiana. MCC Illiana has the names of 40 children (almost 10 more than last year!) that we want to give these children the best kickoff to school. If you would like to sponsor a child (or 2 or 3...) with a book bag filled with the supplies they need for their grade level, please pick a name at church this Sunday, or email us for information. Bags need to be at the church by Sunday, August 14th.

Family Game Night & Dinner - Friday, August 12th, 6ish

Game Night

‚ÄćJoin us for an evening of games and food at our Gayme Night coming up on Friday, August 12th starting around 6pm. This is a family-friendly event with board games, card games and a lot of fun.¬†¬†There will be a simple meal provided, $5 suggested donation for the food.

 

Membership Class  - Sunday, August 21st, 1pm

New Member ClassInterested in developing a deeper relationship with MCC Illiana and our ministry in the GBLTQ Community of NWI? Then consider exploring becoming a member of our church.  Find our more about what it means to be a member at our upcoming membership class on Sunday, August 21st at 1pm. The class runs for 2 hours. No obligation to join, just an opportunity to discern.  Pre-registration is required, see Rev. Michael.

 

‚ÄćWeekly Transgender Support Group¬†

Gathering on Fridays at 6pm

A transgender support group has formed at MCC Illiana and is meeting each Friday at 6pm at the church. The meeting is open to all transgender people regardless of their church affiliation, so invite all the trans folks you know to join us for some snacks, fellowship and to share your thoughts about the focus of this new support group. See Lexie if you have any questions. Simple food and snacks will be provided!

Two Virtual Gatherings each Week

Take advantage of 2 virtual Bible Study groups each week. On Monday afternoon's at noon or on Thursday evenings there are two different gatherings on Zoom.

Monday Afternoon Bible Study, Noon (Central) 

Rev. Rebekah Lawson is be leading a virtual Bible Study series on the book of Hebrews for the remainder of August (there will not be a Bible study on August 14th). This weekly Bible study will focus on faith. Faith is one of those amazing things that so many people want and may not understand. Join us for a deep dive into faith as we read Hebrews. The Bible study will be held on Zoom at noon (central time), so bring your lunch as we explore faith together. This series concludes on August 29th.

Thursday Night Zoom Virtual Bible Study, 7pm 

Our Small Group Bible Study gathers on Thursday nights for a time of fellowship and scriptures. Rev. Michael leads the hour together from the comfort of your computer with this online ZOOM connection.
